  • February: Present a student at Irma Rangel Young Women Leadership Academy with a scholarship on Feb. 26 at 1:00pm
    March: Publish and circulate Inaugural Dallas SCLC newsletter
    April: MLK Observance; Spring Board; Youth Summit
    May: Unity Luncheon (Corporate Connection)
    June: Banquet
    July: Youth Leadership Camp/Workshop
    August: National Convention; Youth Explosion; Back to the Basics
    September: Grandparents and Senior Citizens Luncheon
    October: October Fest (for Youth)
    November: Unity Breakfast (Collect food items, etc., for needy)
    December: To Be Announced
    January, 2010: “I Have a Dream” Summit (for youth)
    MLK Observance Event:
    Saturday, April 4, 2009 at MLK Center, 10:00am – 2:00pm

    Activities for event to include:
    • Job fair
    • information dissemination/education by non-profits;
    • health fair
    • entertainment
    • vendors to sell food
    • videos of Dr. King and President Obama
    • politicians handing out literature

    Non-profit organizations will pay $100 for a table at the event and to have a banner put on Dallas SCLC’s webpage. Politicians would be asked to make a donation to Dallas SCLC for handing out materials. Food vendors would be asked to make a donation to SCLC for privilege of selling food items at event.
